THERAPY for Depression

Depression presents itself as persistent low mood, or persistent tiredness or loss of interest in things that one would have enjoyed in the past.  The symptoms are experienced most of the time and would last for at least two weeks. These symptoms impact a person’s relationships in work and socially.  Very often people who are depressed can start to feel that their life is not worth living. 

Signs that you may be depressed:

Behaviour

  • Not going out anymore
  • Not being productive in work / college or being unable to concentrate
  • Withdrawing form friends and family
  • Abusing alcohol or drugs

Feelings

  • Overwhelmed
  • Guilty
  • Anxious
  • Frustrated
  • Irritated easily
  • Sad / unhappy a lot of time

Thoughts

  • I’m a loser / failure
  • I’m worthless
  • Life is not worth living
  • My friends / family would be better off without me

Physical

  • Exhausted for much of the day
  • Continually feeling sick / unwell
